We added a few new things to our site yesterday (which is why the site was down for 30 minutes). The most exciting addition is the eSnips Widgets – a great way to promote your favorite eSnips folders and files from your blog, personal website or any other web page.
So what exactly is a widget? It's a linked button that you can create and place on any other web page. You decide what folder, image or file on eSnips you’d like to link to and you choose a graphic style for your button.
The HTML code for the widget is generated automatically and you simply copy the code and place it in any other HTML editor to create the widget.
You can create a widget for your own eSnips folders and files, or for any public folder and file on eSnips.
Read more about what widgets are and how to create them here.
Just a few designs are available now, and we'll be adding more designs very soon.
Here's an example of a widget linking to a picture of my daughter on eSnips:
And another one linking to a great art folder:
We are also asking all you designers out there to send us suggestions for widgets. We will add the best designs to our list of widgets and of course include a credit to the designer. More information on that here.
"Loved it!"
If you looked around some eSnips folders you may have noticed that there is a new option for rating a folder – "Loved it!" Yes, we took away "informative" and replaced it with something much better. Now you can really tell your friends you liked their folder.
As always, I look forward to hearing what you think about the widgets, the folder rating and anything else on the site.
