Update on the download buton:

Let me say a few words that I hope will help straighten things out...

While we know many of you use the site to distribute and promote your own work, we have to make sure the site isn't being used for unauthorized sharing of copyrighted materials. That means that we have to keep a fine ba

between serving eSnippers with good intentions and making it difficult for others to use eSnips for inappropriate purposes. That's not always easy. 

We also receive frequent requests from users and artists who want to encourage the distribution of their work by enabling download by default. 

Taking all this into consideration we decided to remove the default availability of the download button. But we do hear what you are saying, and are giving it serious thought.

We are considering reversing the default so that it will first enable download and will provide an option to disable it. Let us do some more checking and see if and how it can be done. 

You might've also noticed that over the past months we've become very proactive in introducing tools that identify and prevent the uploading of infringing content to the site. In the process it sometimes happens that content is wrongly disabled. We hope you understand we make every effort to avoid that.  If anything happens to your content, please let us know and work with us. On our end, we will make every effort to fix things asap."

Meh... This is rather a not so wise move. But hey this site could at least mark those songs that you can download. That would make searching for ready-to download-music a lot easier. I still hate what you did esnips, though. tsk tsk tsk.

Hi there , this is really not good. Its good that you are giving the user a control by which he can decide whether their stuff would be available for download or not. but you should have made like this.stuffs uploaded would be available for download by default and there would be an option to restrict it for downloading , in this way those who don't want their stuffs to be downloaded can check a box and do that.

oh come on esnips crew..
u shouldn't have done this..
most of the members here, login to download the songs... its hard to find some via search engines and other sites .. and if u get one .. u may get a company( ie a virus,adware or nytng of such sort). Esnips is safe and thats why i depend on this. The decision to change the download thingy is very unfair.. didnt just expect it.. plssssssssss bring back the download thingy...

please let us download songs again!! i've actually been looking for a site where i can find and download songs for my PSP.. my friend finally introduced me to this site.. and i only got to be happy downloading songs at last for only about a week or so..

I, for one, am in favour. I have some tracks on ESnips which have been signed to labels, which means I no longer own the copyright on them, therefore it is not up to me whether they can be downloaded, but the label. Through their kindness, I am allowed to leave them on ESnips, provided they can't be downloaded.

Those tracks of mine for which I still own the copyright will remain downloadable until such a time as I no longer own the copyright (eg they're signed).
