Happy Halloween Snippers!

Halloween

Care to be thrilled?  Turn off all the lights and take a stroll in the paranormal community. When we first started this community, about a year ago, I wasn’t even aware of the existence of EVP. What is EVP? Wikipedia defines electronic voice phenomena (EVP) as “speech or speech-like sounds, which are inaudible during recording but detected on electronic recording media upon playback. They are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase and are sometimes claimed to be in direct response to the questions of researchers.”

If just the thought of hearing voices from the beyond doesn’t scare you off, there are some truly creepy EVP sound bites and videos on eSnips. To start off, listen to a spirit saying “Eva, I am Eva” (Lonnie and I jumped from our seat after hearing it) and the very very very creepy girl in the mirror (not for the faint of heart!)

If, on the other hand, you prefer fun to freaky, listen to Ruben’s great performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Dave’s performance of the Monster Mash.

Happy Halloween!

Did I really see Snippy at the Amsterdam Marathon? Yes!

On Sunday, October 21st, our very own Yaya not only ran the Amsterdam Marathon, but also took along a photographer to capture some great pics of the runners. She also took a huge sack of eSnips caps to hand out at the event.

Take a look at her new user profile with folders of photos from the marathon and the half-marathon. Recognize yourself?  Add a comment to the photo.

Running While you’re at it, stop by the Marathon & Triathlon Community – the newest addition to eSnips, and tell us what you think!

What does your profile say about you?

What do you want people to think when they look at your profile?  “Who is this guy?” or maybe “wow, this person sounds interesting, I’d love to get to know him.”

Prefer the latter?  Let your profile say more about you by adding some basics: your photo, age, gender, and country. Then, if you feel so inclined, add a bit more in the “About me” section – tell us about your hobbies, what’s important to you, and what you share on eSnips… just to mention a few ideas.

My favorite part of the profile is the “Philosophy of Life” sentence. First, it’s clear that a lot of people really put an effort into thinking up a one-sentence statement about who they really are and second, it can tell me almost all I need to know about a person. A few of my favorites are Genise’s “Music was my first love and it will be my last!” (Anyone who is even a bit familiar with Genise knows that that’s absolutely true) and Olga’s “When life hands you lemons, grab the salt and the Tequila baby!" (Hey, she lives in Las Vegas, too!)

If you’ve just thought of a really cool Philosophy of Life, leave me a comment, below. I want to take a look.

To update your profile info, sign into your account, click the profile tab, and then choose “Edit your personal details” on the top right.

Musical World Record

Hello Everyone -

Kevin Bath, a musician and eSnipper since August 2006, has created a new world record...he decided a year ago to put his skills to the test and create an album a week, during the course of the year.

And he has succeeded! Kevin

" I started the 1st of October 2006, and the last release was September 23, 2007.

I wanted to create a legacy and share my work with everyone - and of course get some shameless self promotion in, too. All the albums are on my eSnips page, have a listen and enjoy. "

Kevin has written in many different styles, as he writes: "I compare it to painintg... a painter wouldn't paint the same still life over and over"

Congratulations Kevin, we are waiting the call from the Guiness Book of World Records to confirm that we have the winner here on eSnips!

eSnips and the Wild West!

When we were informed that the Dallas News mentiones eSnips, we were intrigued - what could they have writen about..... a Karaoke Country and Western song? A native photographer with their gallery on the site....?

But we found out we have a bit of the Texas Wine Society on eSnips:

"WILD WEST AND WINE: The Wine Society of Texas presents a series of events in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, including a seminar and lunch at Lone Oak Winery and a wine tasting at Lone Star Wines, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; prices vary. For details, go to http://www.esnips.com/web/WildWestWine. "

I didn't even know Texas HAD a Wine Society....Wine

If I could, I'd check it out!

More Snippy art

For a few weeks now I’ve been begging asking all you graphic designers to put Snippy though your creative wringer, but you designers have stayed silent...

It turns out, as these things do, that one of the best artistic Snippy interpretations was right in my back yard.

Allow me to present the new Snippy-as-a-ball art form! The original pic was taken at the beach on our company picnic.

Shameless Self Promotion!

So, what i did when i started at eSnips, was to add my user profile URL to my eSnips email signature.

And just yesterday, I was thinking along the lines of getting more people to see my page who arent eSnippers....I had a thought .....why not add my profile URL to my hotmail and such signatures?!?

So i did: Signature_4
