Karaoke Summer Party

The dog days of summer are definitely here: the thermometer has been over 35C/ 95F during each of the last four days, and humidity has been over 70% each day!  Yes, we realize that many of you don’t share our plight and live in cooler climates, but humor us (the heat addles our brains).

To capture that lazy summer spirit while sitting in the air-conditioned luxury of your home, Lonnie came up with the idea to have a virtual karaoke beach party – you sing the summer songs you love the best, we provide the virtual margarita!!! 

Take a look at Lonnie’s post in the Karaoke forum. All you have to do is sing a summer song (Lonnie suggested a few, but you can choose your own if it suits the spirit of the party), upload it to eSnips, and use this summerkaraokeparty to tag it. 

Come on, we want to hear you sing!

PS In case you were wondering, the air-conditioning unit in marketing was fixed a week ago. We are, thankfully, back to cooler days…

Daniel’s entry spotlighted difficulties resulting from Google Analytics all-to-frequent use of the ubiquitous “other” field when analyzing eSnips site content.

Once upon a time, there were 2 creative artists. They never met in person, but they found each other on eSnips and liked each others style.

They decided to use the magic of the internet to make beautiful things, together.

They refined and polished and were finally ready to present the finished creation to the world....

I am happy to tell you about a very few of the joint creations that have been done by eSnippers that I know of – either from the Forums or by personal invite (or just stumbling upon them in search results…;)  )

File downloading – temporary problem

Some of you have been emailing and leaving comments regarding a file download problem that I want to address. The problem started after a recent system upgrade and from what I’ve seen, files appear as an “unknown file type” after the download, with the file name being a random series of numbers and letters.

We’re working on fixing the problem, but in the meantime, there is a quick fix for this. After downloading the file, simply rename it with the correct name instead of the gibberish that you see.  Most importantly, be sure to add the file’s extension.  So, for example, if you’ve downloaded a music file, simply rename it song.mp3 after the download. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

Someone to talk with...

Hello eSnippers-

We are trying out something in the communities -

We are inviting an eSnips member to be a community moderator. To us, a CM is someone who can be a friendly and welcoming presence in a community, encourage new and more seasoned users to be active online, because they themselves are welcoming and care about the community and the site.

Someone who caught our eye from way back as a person with lively interests, involvement and a sense of fun, seemed perfect for the job. It also turns out he has projects going on under the radar that might come to light now, but I'll let him tell you about it…. 

Welcome to Ian Williamson, who will start out in the Poetry Community! Hope you have a great time.
