Yesterday's downtime

There was an unexpected power outage yesterday at our hosting facility and our service was down for a few hours. Our team was up all night fixing it and all is back to normal now. If any of you encountered a problem please email me or contact our support team.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

More eSnips Widgets

We added more designs for the eSnips Widgets today. We will keep on adding new ones and, as I mentioned yesterday, we'd be happy to receive suggestions from you (details are here).

Here are a few examples of the new designs. Feel free to click on them, they all link to wonderful eSnips folders and files.

New on eSnips – widgets for your blog or website

We added a few new things to our site yesterday (which is why the site was down for 30 minutes). The most exciting addition is the eSnips Widgets – a great way to promote your favorite eSnips folders and files from your blog, personal website or any other web page.
So what exactly is a widget? It's a linked button that you can create and place on any other web page. You decide what folder, image or file on eSnips you’d like to link to and you choose a graphic style for your button.
The HTML code for the widget is generated automatically and you simply copy the code and place it in any other HTML editor to create the widget.
You can create a widget for your own eSnips folders and files, or for any public folder and file on eSnips.
Read more about what widgets are and how to create them here.
Just a few designs are available now, and we'll be adding more designs very soon.
Here's an example of a widget linking to a picture of my daughter on eSnips:

And another one linking to a great art folder:

We are also asking all you designers out there to send us suggestions for widgets. We will add the best designs to our list of widgets and of course include a credit to the designer. More information on that here.

"Loved it!"
If you looked around some eSnips folders you may have noticed that there is a new option for rating a folder – "Loved it!" Yes, we took away "informative" and replaced it with something much better. Now you can really tell your friends you liked their folder.

As always, I look forward to hearing what you think about the widgets, the folder rating and anything else on the site.

Zero Dragon - another cool eSnips folder

Zero Dragon is an original anime series. The wonderful character sketches and the original music soundtrack are posted on eSnips. Take a look here and here. Very cool!
You can also read more about the story here.

Great Music on eSnips

Lately I've seen (or actually listened) to more and more great music on eSnips. I was amazed at the variety of styles and performers: karaoke covers, amateurs, professionals, original song writers and performers, romantic duets, techno tracks, country music, blues – just about everything!
Here are a few examples:
Viviana Gerston's Music Files – Viviana sings beautifully in English and in Hebrew.
Blues Music - Bill sings the blues.
Mike's Covers - Karaoke covers Mike did to songs he likes.
Me & Maggie Singin' – cool songs and moving story.
MD6Music - great original tracks.
Taz's songs – Taz has a good time singing (check out all the great comments he's been getting). He also sings duets with friends.
Divakar's Songs - Divakar's shares one of his songs, hopefully there are more to come.
Deb's house concerts – Deb wrote the words and the music to these great songs and she invites everyone to listen and leave comments.

We want more

It’s been a while since I've written. The long Passover Holiday came and threw us all off balance and then, before we knew it, we dove into preparations for the Always On event in Hollywood, California, where we did a short demo of eSnips. We got some great feedback and Yael has some more info and pics here.
During the past few weeks I've been getting a lot of emails from you guys with feedback, comments, suggestions and questions. To all of you who wrote me or left comments - thanks for taking the time to tell me what it is you enjoy most about eSnips and what you would like to see added.
I've received great suggestions for new features and additional capabilities; some were already on our list and some will be added to our pipeline. There were a few that were not a good fit for our product, but from all these creative ideas we learn what it is you are looking for in eSnips and what improvements can make eSnips better and more useful to you. Please keep them coming! Hearing from you is the best way to learn what is good (or not so good) about eSnips and what you think would work better for you. That's the stuff that matters.
